José María López Pacheco · AI-enabled SDET & Full Stack Developer

Software that earns its release.

AI-enabled SDET with experience in test automation using Selenium, Playwright, and SpecFlow, along with framework development and CI/CD integration. Skilled in API testing with RestAssured and Postman, maintaining projects, and executing functional and non-functional tests across web and mobile platforms. Used AI tools including Claude Code, ChatGPT, and CODA to create TCs and execute tests through agentic testing, improving test case creation by 40% and reducing execution time by 35%. Also experienced as a full stack with Spring Boot and React, where I owned projects and delivered feature updates.

01 — Profile

Who you would be hiring.

I started on the engineering side — mobile modules, a PHP learning platform, Spring Boot and React features I owned end to end — and I never left it. Automation is where I went deep, but the reason my frameworks hold up is that I read the system underneath them: the API contract, the query plan, the message on the Kafka topic.

That means I am useful on both sides of a release. I can own a feature from ticket to production, and I can build the framework and pipeline that decides whether it is allowed to ship. The two skills are the same skill, applied at different moments.

  • a

    Backend engineering

Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs and SQL. Full-stack ownership of features with React on the front, from first ticket to release.

  • b

    Test automation

Framework design and maintenance in Java, C# and .NET — Selenium, Playwright, Appium, SpecFlow, Cucumber — plus API automation with REST Assured and RestSharp.

  • c

    Delivery & observability

CI/CD on Jenkins and Azure Pipelines, non-functional testing with JMeter, and live analysis through New Relic, Splunk and Kafka.

02 — Experience

Six places. One through-line.

Select a role to open it.

  1. Validating requirements and raising test coverage for Android and iOS simulators: reading user stories, designing the cases, running manual and automated passes, and improving the framework as I go. Jira and mobile simulators carry the results.

I lean on Claude Code, ChatGPT and Coda to prepare tests and keep documentation organised, which made preparation measurably faster and validation more consistent across platforms. REST Assured, Jenkins and SQL support the automation; New Relic, Splunk and Kafka handle monitoring and analysis.

  2. The team needed faster, more reliable coverage across web applications and APIs. I designed and maintained Java automation frameworks on Selenium and Cucumber, optimised the automated regression workflow, and ran non-functional testing with JMeter.

Alongside that: defect tracking in Jira, work in SpecFlow, .NET and Appium, and the AI-assisted workflow that improved test-case creation by 40% and cut execution time by 35%. REST Assured, Jenkins and SQL backed the API automation; New Relic, Splunk and Kafka backed the troubleshooting.

    • .NET
    • JMeter
    • Appium
    • REST Assured
    • Jenkins
    • Kafka
  3. Several client projects needed consistent execution and stable automation support at the same time. I developed and ran test cases, maintained the Selenium WebDriver framework, and kept the Azure DevOps pipelines healthy.

The work was C# and RestSharp on the API side, Appium and Selenium on the UI side, with Azure Pipelines tying it together — plus REST Assured, Jenkins and SQL, and New Relic, Splunk and Kafka for observability and issue analysis.

  4. The university wanted to retire its paper exercises. I built the web platform that replaced them — login, instructions, exercise lists, and in-browser code execution and testing — in PHP, with PHPUnit covering the logic.

It shipped as a working interactive workflow for students, developed and delivered in French.

  5. Agile Risk Manager needed regression testing it could rely on. I worked across requirements analysis, test case preparation and test campaign implementation, using Squash TM, Squish and Eclipse RCP.

The result was structured regression coverage that held up the application's quality and reliability release after release.

  6. A social assistance app needed a location module it could trust for field operations and city-boundary detection. I built it with NativeScript, geolocation APIs and Google Maps, and integrated it with the rest of the application.

I worked directly with the backend and frontend teams and used Google Cloud services to support the feature set.
